इंसान-ए-कामिल (insan-e-kamil), the perfect or complete human, is a significant concept within Sufi thought, describing someone who has fully realised their spiritual potential, embodying divine qualities within an entirely ordinary, human life. This figure is rarely presented as unreachable, but rather as a genuine, if demanding, aspiration for any sincere seeker.

This ideal is not understood as flawless perfection in an ordinary sense, but as a kind of completeness, someone whose inward and outward life have become genuinely aligned through sustained spiritual discipline and devotional practice. That alignment, inward matching outward, is considered far harder to achieve than outward perfection alone.

The idea offers Sufi thought a concrete aspiration beyond abstract doctrine, a living example toward which a seeker's own gradual spiritual development might reasonably be measured and understood across a genuine lifetime of practice. Many murshid are understood, within their own communities, as having approached something close to this same ideal.
